Navel oranges are a mutated seedless variety of orange. Since there are no seeds, the trees are reproduced by grafting. Navel orange trees (Citrus sinensis) are small to medium sized citrus trees, growing up to 20 feet tall. Grow navel oranges in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 9 and 10.

Location

Navel oranges need full sun. If the tree is planted near a building, south side planting is best so it gets more sun and stays warmer. A location with good drainage where the tree roots won't sit in water is a necessity. A lawn that gets fertilized is not the place for navel orange trees, as the tree's nutritional needs are different than the needs of grass, and trying to fertilize both will lead to over-fertilization. The tree's growing roots can damage driveways, sidewalks or other paved areas if the tree is planted less than 12 feet away.

Soil and Planting

Loamy soils will give the orange tree the best growth potential, although they can grow in sandy or clay soils. Four to 6 inches of organic matter tilled into the soil before planting gives the tree more nutrients. Navel orange tree need planting as early in the spring as possible, after all danger of frost has passed. A hole twice the length and the same depth as the root ball will give the roots room to spread out, with the top of the root ball an inch above the surrounding soil for drainage.

Water

Deep, regular watering during the first year after planting encourages the navel orange tree's roots to grow deeper in the soil. About 8 to 10 gallons of water twice a week for the first month will satisfy the tree's water needs. Watering can be reduced to every 3 to 7 days after the first month, but if the leaves begin to wilt or the soil dries, the tree needs more water. Once the navel orange tree is established it will only need watering in periods of hot weather or drought. Watch online hollywood movies 300mb in hindi dubbed. A 2- to 4-inch layer of mulch in a 3-foot radius around the tree will help conserve moisture. Keeping the mulch several inches from the tree trunk will help prevent trunk rot. As the canopy size increases, the mulch radius should also increase.

Fertilizer

Fertilizer in the planting hole can burn navel orange tree roots. The first fertilizer can be added about three weeks after planting, when the buds start to swell. A tablespoon of a high-nitrogen fertilizer, with little phosphorus or potassium, spread evenly over the ground near the tree trunk and watered will properly fertilize the tree. Monthly applications follow during the first year in the spring and summer. After the first year, more fertilizer is added as the tree gets larger, following the manufacturer recommended rates.

Ariel Winter is once again fighting the good fight against body shamers.

The 17-year-old Modern Family star took to Instagram after a cute bikini photo she posted with her nieces received some negative comments.

“Who knew that an innocent photo with my nieces would turn into this?” Ariel wrote. “The height of a girl’s skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for. It sickens me to think at 17 years old, a photo of myself with my nieces is suggesting that I’m ‘asking for it.’”

Ariel continues, “I typically never give power to the mean things people bravely say behind their computer screens on the Internet, but this is for the girls who are constantly bullied whether it be online or at school. You are not asking for anything because of what you are wearing- you are expressing yourself and don’t you ever think you deserve the negativity as the consequence to what you are wearing- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Celebrate you and don’t let anyone’s comments allow you to think less of yourself. Us girls have to stick together!!!!!!”

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Ariel’s reaction?
